Who We Are
Our Vision
Our History
Disciple Central Community Church (DC3) was founded in January 2008 by Pastor Marcus D. King with only seven members. In September of 2008, the church in DeSoto, TX, partnered with Johnson Chapel Community Church, which had 47 members and needed a pastor and leadership. In January 2013, the church was fully functioning by its original name, Disciple Central Community Church. The church membership grew to more than 3,200 in the first five years.
What makes the church exceptional in DeSoto is its members and their heart to serve the community with several outreach ministries and genuine love for all they encounter. Thirty-two percent of the DC3 membership is from DeSoto, 29 percent are Dallas-based members, and the remainder is from all over North Texas. As the founder and Senior Pastor, Marcus D. King was the first member to look at his role in the church as a life changer and servant.
Some of the church’s outreach programs include Behind Closed Doors, involving domestic violence issues, with “A Day to Shine,” where women and children from shelters are pampered and given free massages, pedicures, and clothing. There is also JAIL (Justice, Agencies, Incarceration, Legal), Seek & Find Employment Ministry, and FED UP (Families Eating Daily Undermining Poverty), a community program providing resources to help people meet basic human needs such as food, housing, and emergency services. The Public & Community Health Program began in 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
As a reflection of DC3’s commitment to the community, the church holds a Business & Career Expo annually where local businesses are showcased, empowerment seminars are facilitated, and employers and jobseekers participate in a job fair. The Life Enrichment Center offers free premarital, marital, drug and alcohol, spiritual, adolescent, and child counseling free of charge to the community with resident licensed professional counselors. WITNESS, the missions community, partners with ministries worldwide, including The Gambia in West Africa, Haiti, and Jamaica. With a global mindset on service, DC3 has funded a school and clinic and purchased land for a village church in The Gambia. It has also given $20,000 to a sister church in The Gambia to renovate its existing building. DC3 also supports clinics in Haiti, outreaches in Jamaica, and funds water filters for Togo, West Africa, and the Philippines.
In 2020, the FED UP program provided food to over 4000 families, distributing over 45,000 lbs of food, provided toys to over 250 kids - all either homeless or in the foster care system in partnership with DeSoto ISD, and distributed toys to over 250 low-income children through collaboration with the DeSoto Fire Department.
In 2021, DC3 provided 6,500 food boxes (approximately 100,000 lbs.) distributed to over 6,500 families. This included Bless DeSoto, the Thanksgiving food distribution food to 31 apartment complexes (4500 apartment units) feeding some of the most disadvantaged living in the city of DeSoto. Food distribution helps to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in the community, address the rising cost of food, and address shortages caused by the national supply chain breakdown. FED UP also provided over 900 pairs of jeans and pants for women and men living in shelters and 3600 boxes of diapers for new mothers.
Since 2022, DC3 has provided boxes of food (approximately 100,000 lbs) and distributed to over 15,000 families.

Our Beliefs
God
We believe there is one, and only one, living and true God. God is an infinite, intelligent Spirit that is the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth. God eternally exist in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious roles. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 4:35, Matthew 28:19,1 Peter 1:2)

(Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 4:35, Matthew 28:19,1 Peter 1:2)
The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible was divinely inspired by God and written by men without error. All scripture, New and Old Testament, is good for doctrine, reproofing, correcting, and instructing each other in love. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)

Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and is the Savior of men. Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world, was buried and rose from the grave and is seated with the Heavenly Father. (Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 7:26 ; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 Corinthians 6:14; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3)

Salvation
We believe Salvation is a gift given through grace that cannot be earned or bought. Salvation requires verbal confession that Jesus is Lord, and belief in your heart that God raised him from the dead in order to be saved. Once you confess and believe you are sealed by the Holy Spirit and your salvation cannot be lost.(Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 7:26 ; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 Corinthians 6:14; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3)
